The lottery is just a game. Many people just want to have fun, even when they know they’ll most likely lose money. Some people think the more they spend, the likelier they’ll win.
Someone in Chicago won $1.337 billion, according to Mega Millions. The odds of winning the jackpot in Powerball is 1 in 293 million. For mega millions, it is 1 in 303 million.
Here were the winning numbers: 13-36-45-57-67. The Mega Ball was 14.
“We are thrilled to have witnessed one of the biggest jackpot wins in Mega Millions history,” said Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald. The Lead director for Mega Millions Consortium said, “We’re eager to find out who won and look forward to congratulating the winner soon!”
Since April 15, no one had matched the game’s jackpot. There were 29 consecutive draws before there was a winner! The jackpot value increased greatly.
In Illinois, you are allowed to hide your name if you winmore than $250,000. Most winners prefer people to not know their names.
“This is not the time to start calling everybody you know, saying, ‘hey, I have a big secret. Can you keep it?’” Emily Irwin, a managing director of Advice & Planning at Wells Fargo’s Wealth & Investment Management, said.
“There are scammers and others who follow big winners,” she said, agreeing to the belief that sudden growth in finance can put the jackpot winner in physical danger.
The winner must sign the ticket immediately after they win. If the ticket isn’t signed, then it wouldn’t belong to you. If someone else finds an unsigned ticket, it is now theirs.
“Take a Polaroid of you holding it and (put) it in a safe deposit box or somewhere else safe,” Irwin said.
Well, yes, winning the lottery is very lucky. However, many people who win the lottery end up going bankrupt. This is because they don’t spend wisely. You can be like, “Oh, yeah, but I can control,” but it isn’t like that until you win.
$1.337 Billion has been one of the largest jackpots, and winning it would be paradise, but it could also lead you to many forms of danger. Who will be the next winner? Will there be a jackpot of $2 billion+ soon? Maybe the next winner might be you!
