11-year-old Alisha Weir will be playing Matilda with James Bond actress Lashana Lynch as a kind-hearted teacher named Miss Honey in the new movie, Matilda. The book was written by Ronald Daul. Emma Thompson, who is best known for playing the magical Nanny McPhee in Nanny Mcphee, will be the terrifying headteacher Miss Trunchbull.
The story follows a girl who is very intelligent and loves reading. Although she is intelligent, she does not fit in with her family.
Later on, she finds out that she can move things with her mind. She uses it to protect friends and the teachers from the school head, Miss Trunchbull. She uses her power to push all the students by shouting at them and being mean.
This version is instead based on the Matilda the Musical stage show, which was originally staged on Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Matilda is famous for their songs like “When I Grow Up” and “A Little Bit Naughty.” The songs were written by Tim Minchin, an Australian comedian.
The show moved to the West End in 2011 and the show won seven Olivier Awards, which is one of the top prizes in the theater world. Which is very hard to get.
