Many people, including Gold Coast’s mayor, Tom Tate, and even Australia’s richest person, billionaire businesswoman Gina Rinehart, support the Commonwealth Games being hosted in Gold Coast, Australia. Ms. Rinehart has always been a huge sports supporter and she says it’s wonderful that Australians are able to represent their own country and that little kids can dream of competing for Australia.

The events happening in the Gold Coast Commonwealth games include, netball, badminton, table tennis, boxing, lawn bowls, quash, beach volleyball, gymnastics, shooting, and swimming. Most people are excited for the swimming competitions because during the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, Australia won 13 gold and 25 medals from just the swim team alone!
