Magnus is the best chess player of his generation. Magnus Carlsen was born in 1990 in Norway. He is a prodigy and the current world champion. A universal player with an intuitive grasp of chess, much of Carlsen’s success can be explained by his psychology which is completely free from any fears. He rarely makes any kind of blunders and plays on forever to try to win positions with the smallest advantage, or even equal ones. His endgame play is superb, and his constant pressing in every position eventually drives his opponents to make errors. Carlsen is currently the highest-rated player in history.

Carlsen’s Style

Carlsen is a person with a tactical and positional styles. However, he is more positional. He can squeeze (slowly play and win) out position and clamp his opponent. When it comes to tactics, he rarely misses them however there are more times when he misses tactics, than positional play.

Carlsen’s Endgame Magic

Nobody is better than Magnus at endgame. If he is losing, drawing, and winning, he can always find an endgame in his favor. No one knows how he does this. If you try to copy his endgame you will fail.

Carlsen’s Weaknesses

Magnus is a sub-par dynamic decision-maker. He misses tactics for his opponent when the tactic looks like it is defended.
