The K-pop superstar group BTS announced their decision to take a break over a long dinner they filmed and posted on social media.
BTS is one of the world’s most well-known music bands! The band’s members are Jin, Suga, J-hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Each member is almost thirty now and they have spent a lot of time together reaching success! Recently, the band used their influence to send a message against anti-Asian hate at the White House in May.
The video that they posted on social media shows the seven members of BTS sitting at a long table with food, water, and balloons. On the walls, there are the words “BTS Festa” for decorations with balloons. RM, the group’s leader, said, “I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature.” Suga, one of BTS’s band members, said, “I have my own hobbies, too, and things I want to do on my own.” For the band to go on, they need to take a step back and grow as individuals, the members of BTS said.
A representative for Hybe, the entertainment company that represents the band, issued a statement: “To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various different formats.” They do plan to return after their break.
