Israel and Iran are fighting their worst battle yet. Over the weekend, they both attacked each other with bombs and missiles. The fighting started on June 14, 2025, because Iran sent a ballistic missile at Israel. At least 70 people died in Iran and 11 in Israel. Many are worried the fighting will become a bigger war

First, Israel bombed Iran’s nuclear sites on Friday. This killed some of Iran’s top security leaders. Then Iran fired over 200 missiles at Israel. Some of the bombs exploded homes and broke a lab that held many important experiments. Israel fired back at Iran and hit Iran’s main fuel storage in Tehran. When the fuel storage was hit, many people were killed.

This fighting is different because before Israel and Iran fought through other groups like religion. Now they are directly fighting each other. Israel says Iran’s nuclear program is dangerous, and Iran says Israel started the fight. Other countries are asking them to stop, but none of them wants to stop fighting

In Israel, Iran’s missiles hit apartment buildings near Tel Aviv. A few women and children were killed, and one building was almost destroyed. In Iran, the bombings felt like earthquakes. The fuel depot fire was so big that people could see it across the city.

Israel says it now controls the sky over Tehran, so they are able to put bombs there more easily. Iran says it will fight back. The U.S. will not help Israel attack Iran, but will fight back if Iran attacks the U.S.

The fighting has also spread to Yemen. Israel bombed the leaders of the Houthi group there because they work with Iran. Experts say this could make the whole Middle East more dangerous and might start a war in the Middle East.

Now, people in both countries are scared. Families in Israel live in bomb shelters. In Tehran, people wake up to black smoke in the sky. No one knows if the fighting will either stop or get worse.
