Almost all of us know that the internet has engulfed almost every aspect of our lives. The internet is so big that it has its own humorous videos and pictures that become extremely popular, extremely fast. These videos and pictures are called memes and one meme became so big, it even got out of computer screens. The meme in question is the ‘Little Miss [blank]’ which became viral around 2014 and has stayed viral over the past 8 years. Viral is a term used to say extremely popular extremely quickly on the internet. An incredible feat is that it has stayed viral for the past 8 years because most memes only stay viral for about a month or so and then people move on, but not the ‘Little Miss [blank]’ meme. The origin of this meme was from a kids book series with every book being called ‘Little Miss’ which was released in 2006, not only that. There was another sister series named ‘Mr.[blank]’ which was released in 1971. Then the thing that got the meme makers attention was when the author released ‘Little Miss Spice Girls’. These books had a character for every personality trait and that personality trait would be the [blank], so this gave meme makers the idea to give dark humorous character trait.

It started off as any other meme, it was posted on the internet somewhere, then it became popular and spread to other platforms. This meme started on Tumblr, a social networking site like Twitter and Facebook. The first meme was called ‘Little Miss Smokes to Much Weed’ got 36,000 likes and it quickly spread to countless other platforms. Then, in the time gap between 2015 and 2020 the meme started to die out and people started to become uninterested until now. No one knows that sparked a beginning of this meme again. Then, the meme got so re-birthed so largely that it was featured in a magazine. Soon after that big companies started catching on too, LinkedIn, M&M’S and the Philadelphia 76ers and even PBS have seized on the meme. And in the computer screen’s it has gained countless people, millions of followers, views and likes. For example, an Instagram account named “LittleMissNotesApp” that as attracted nearly 2 million followers by posting these characters. Another example is on TikTok, the
#LittleMiss
has gotten over 140 million views.

In the future the ‘Little Miss [Blank]’ could grow exponentially more and more viral or it could be the exact opposite of that. Maybe the meme will live om, maybe it won’t. And if it does what meme so great could make the ‘Little Miss [Blank]’ meme? Because the ‘Little Miss [blank]’ meme has already had history for itself.
