Women’s tennis player Heather Watson’s chances of her first major quarter-final were ended by Jule Niemeier. “I think in the women’s game, often people are breaking through later. I think experience counts for a lot. Everybody’s journey is different. This is mine,” Heather Watson said.

She had an emotional win against Tamara Korpatsch. She moved on to enter the singles fourth round at the Slam. After seven more years she had a similar accomplishment against the great Serena Williams.

“I broke a barrier this week. So I am definitely hungry for more. I believe in my tennis and my game. I still really enjoy it. I think that ‘s really important.” A British

broke a serve but could not continue to carry on and continue the advantage.

“I’ve always felt good enough. I’ve won four WTA titles. That’s not easy. I know when I light it up, I can play really well and beat anyone on my day, just like anyone on tour,” she added. Heather Watson could not continue on because her unexpected Wimbledon run was stopped short of the quarterfinals by Germany’s Jule Niemeier.

Watson’s performance was amazing, but the young Jule Niemeier performed better with powerful forehand and backhand that Watson could not respond to. Watson got frustrated and swung at random and missed volley at the net. Niemeier ended the first match at about 27 quick minutes.

“I’ll look back and be proud of myself I think for this week. But right now I’m a bit disappointed.,” said Watson.

Even though Watson will miss the chance of a fourth quarter final there would be no emotion heart breaks because all efforts were put in that Neimeier deserved more than the top 8.
