Heather Watson is moving on to the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time! Cameron Norrie is also moving on to the fourth round!

Heather Watson is a 30-year-old professional tennis player. Watson has won nine championships over her tennis career, including the mixed-doubles championship at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships with Henri Kontinen. She was the first British woman to win a Grand Slam championship since Jo Durie won it in 1991, and also the first British woman to win a championship in Wimbledon since Durie won it in 1987. In October 2012, Watson won her very first WTA Tour singles at the Japan Open, which made her the first British woman to win WTA singles since Sara Gomer won it in 1988.

In her most recent Wimbledon match, Heather Watson beat a Slovenian player named Kaja Juvan to reach the last 16. She won the match with the score of 7-6 (8-6) 6-2, received a cheer and applause from the crowd, raised her arms to celebrate, and put her forehead on the ground to “thank the grass.” Heather Watson is the 121st -ranked tennis player in the world. In the fourth round, she will be facing German player Jule Niemeier, ranked 97.

Cameron Norrie is also a professional tennis player. He is the best men’s single player in Britain, and he reached 10th place in the world’s singles on April 4, 2022, and 123rd place in world doubles on August 23, 2021. He has four ATP tour singles championships (including a Masters 1000 title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters) and a doubles championship.

Cameron Norrie is ranked 12th in the world! His win just came shortly after Heather Watson’s win. He beat 93rd-ranked American player Steve Johnson on Centre Court. The score was 6-4 6-1 6-0. Cameron Norrie told the BBC, “It’s a lot of fun being the British number one, playing on Centre Court, being in the spotlight, and playing to that level that I did today. I embraced it and really enjoyed it.” In his next match, Cameron Norrie will face Tommy Paul, another American player.
