Many places around the United States have experienced extremely high daily temperatures this summer as several cities in the Northeast are expecting a scorching peak on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature in Newark hit 101 degrees,

surpassing the previous record set in 2010 for 99 degrees. It was 100 degrees in Boston,

exceeding the previous record of 98 degrees, set in 1933.

Officials across the country view the continuous high temperature as a heat wave which will last for extended days. “Athletes who had trained for months would not get to compete in the Boston Triathlon, which was postponed for the heat, or would compete for a shorter time in the New York City Triathlon,” according to The New York Times.

On Saturday, New York City’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed a heat-related death followed by Dallas County, Texas which reported its first heat-related death of 2022 on

Thursday.

Because of humanity’s lack of attention to nature, our motherland is getting sicker and sicker

every day. More extreme weather will follow as the nature cycle continues to spiral out of place. We should all do the best we can to help our habitat before it’s too late.
