Halloween Preparation Time
I believe that the right time for Halloween decorations and parades to start going up is about one week before Halloween. This is because not everyone wants a whole spooky month; it helps to protect decorations such as jack-o’-lanterns, and it preserves the excitement for the best part of the month.
Firstly, people do not want a whole spooky month. However, children may love Halloween and enjoy it as a festival where their creativity blossoms on lanterns and all kinds of decorations, as well as a period of time for them to play around spooky lanterns and skulls. Adults may not always be able to handle the pressure of spooky objects. Adults often spend most of their valuable time on work, such as presentations and meetings, and spooky objects may surprise adults when they suddenly find that they are surrounded by spooky objects, since they are so concerned with their work.
Secondly, Halloween decorations should not be put up too early because decorations need to be protected. It will be fun and appropriate to put up normal lanterns along the streets or on ropes around two weeks before Halloween starts, but expensive lanterns such as Jack-o’-lanterns will rot quickly in about one week once they are placed outside. Other examples, such as skulls, may also break quickly when children play with them, which is unpleasant when the actual Halloween festival arrives.
Thirdly, people have to preserve the excitement for Halloween. If the preparation for Halloween comes too early, the excitement of children, and even adults, will be released too soon. People will slowly get bored since every day, they are celebrating, having parades and parties, but it will possibly be overwhelming to people if it continues for a long time. It will be horrible if people are all depressed by the real arrival of the Halloween festival.
You may believe that having the opportunity to prepare earlier for Halloween allows children and parents to have enough time to relax and enjoy their lives, but what actually happens is that children have to leave more of their time to finish homework for preparing for the Halloween festival. Parents need to spend work time preparing for Halloween.
Again, Halloween is a place of joy, but it should not be prepared too early. Preparation should start about one week before Halloween arrives, as a whole spooky month may overwhelm people, may cause unnecessary breaks in decorations, and may diminish people’s excitement.
