NEW SKETCHER TRACKING SHOES TO ENSURE KID’S SAFETY.
by: Sophia Wang
At first, it may sound like a unnecessary idea, but these shoes can be quite useful in many different ways.
These new sketcher shoes are called the “Find my Sketchers”. They are designed to have a hidden spot underneath the sole for a GPS tracker. The GPS tracker uses Bluetooth signals. You can keep track of your child by downloading a app that has a map of where you child is going. These shoes come in all sorts of fun colors and are meant for children from 4 through 8 years old.
“Find my Sketchers” is a easy way to keep track of your kid, this way you can know if they got lost or if they made it to school on time! If you lose these shoes, than you can just look at the app and know where it was left. The tracking shoes facilitate a child growth, so you don’t need to freak out whether your 6 year old child made it to the sleep-over or not. You can just sit and drink your coffee knowing that your child is safe and sound. It is a very interesting and unique concept for a shoe, allowing kids to roam more freely. I could just look at my phone and say “Oh look! They made it to their kindergarten classroom!”
There are some cons to this shoe though, and that the wearer of the shoe. Imagine yourself being tracked down wherever you set foot, how might this impact your sense of freedom? Some kids just get mad because they’re parent probably didn’t tell them the truth behind buying the shoe. Other children don’t want to be followed or watched around like babies. their sense of having some freedom is just lost and now completely fake. If I were to be tracked down by my parents, I wouldn’t feel safe out here anymore. If my parents have a reason for tracking me, it’s probably because it’s dangerous out there. It wouldn’t make me feel safe, just the opposite.
Overall, this shoe has a good concept. It’s just that it wouldn’t make the kids feel any more stable, just wrong. I don’t think it’
s right to have a kid believe that they were finally growing up, and in reality their parents are still keeping an eye on them. So this shoe is not something I would spend my money on. Maybe when they’re a little older.
