Gordon Ernst, a tennis coach at Georgetown, was sentenced to 2 years in prison after accepting bribes from parents to have their children on the school team. “Mr. Ernst was one of the most prolific participants in cheating the college admissions system,” Rachael Rollins, a U.S. attorney. Rachael claims that Ernst received nearly 3.5 million dollars and auctioned off around 24 spots on the team to wealthy parents.

The New York Times says that over 50 people along with Ernst have been charged with the scandal. One of which was William Singer, who worked with Ernst to let parents buy their way in to athletic teams so their children can attend certain colleges. Singer’s trial will be held in September.
