On Thursday, it was announced that Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter,would come to Broadway eventually. Frida Kahlo was looked upon because she made both great art and at the same time was paralyzed for her entire life since she was 18 years of age from a bus accident. Most art historians believed she was depressed because her artwork was always sad in some way, but the truth according to her family members was that she was quite the opposite of what historians believe. She was humorous and joyful, but people who knew about the real Kahlo couldn’t share that, until now.

Frida Kahlo was born on June 6, 1907 and died on the 13th of June 1956 in the same blue home. She had countless self-portraits of herself portraying herself in pain and agony, but now we know that’s far from the truth. She lived quite a happy life, told crazy stories and was always laughing. She was smart, funny and had feelings any average human would.

To get the truth out, they put it on Broadway. Instead of a sad, heartbreaking and boring story. They spiced things up with both happy and sad acts with multiple portrays of Frida in different states. But this is only the beginning and there is still much to do before it comes out. Many people prefer movies over plays nowadays and this story might never come out. Though looking back on it, there are people who look at her as an icon and maybe the show will go on.
