In 2026 we will be having the World Cup with 48 teams instead of the 32 teams. It will also be the first time the tournament is being done across three nations hosting it making it better.
The places that the tournament teams will be playing on are:
● Vancouver
● Seattle
● San Francisco
● Los Angeles (SoFi Stadium)
● Guadalajara, Mexico
● Kansas City
● Dallas
● Atlanta
● Houston
● Monterrey, Mexico
● Mexico City
● Toronto
● Boston
● Philadelphia
● Miami
● New York/New Jersey
Having the World Cup all across three very large countries will come with significant travel challenges for teams and especially the fans that follow them. Compared to tournaments in a single country with strong rail connections, it makes sure that fans cant interrupt.
But before the world’s soccer fans come to North America, there’s the 2022 World Cup coming earlier than that, allowing you to wait less! It is taking place in Qatar. The tournament begins on Nov. 21 and continues until Dec. 18.
