Dog Awarded for Using Its Skills for Saving Wildlife
A 10-year-old Springer Spaniel named Henry was just awarded the “Animal of the Year” by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) for being able to catch criminals and also rescue wildlife in Wrexham, UK.
However, before this he was rejected from three homes because that he was too energetic. Later, he was adopted by Louise Wilson, who worked at UK National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU) when he was eight months old. The pair of them soon started to work together to save wildlife.
Quickly, people found that Henry’s skills helped a lot in catching criminals. He could find small things like tracking tags that was removed from birds. Det Insp Mark Harrison once said, ” Henry’s work is crucial in helping the police gather imformation for potential crimes.”
He also said that if they can’t find anything the investigation could stop. Once when no one could find anything, Henry found a small bird’s skull.
Now, Henry had found a nice home and a good and popular job, and even though he was rejected so many times. His energy saved him at last by finding him a better home. He will make new achievements that will help a lot for the NWCU, and also the country.
