The Secret Identical Friends
Once there were four identical children who had almost everything in common! What was happening…
There was one boy named Luca who lived in a big mansion in California because his mom was a movie star. He loved his mom, even though he disliked movies and the nosy reporters. He had red, short, and curly hair, blue eyes, and was really tall. This meant bullies were afraid of him.
There was another girl named Lisa who lived in Bakersfield, where her dad was a rich carrot farmer. Lisa loved carrots, art, and historical fiction cartoons , but she thought her dad was too strict. “I love any type of art. Whether dancing, painting, music, or art, I am just deee-lighted, as Theodore, or Teddy Roosevelt, would say in cartoons. She had red, long, and curly hair and blue eyes. She was also really tall. Probably because of all the carrots!
Next, there was a tall girl named Lori who was an orphan. Lori had red, short, and curly hair and blue eyes. She lived in an orphan shelter in Colorado and refused to tell anyone about why she didn’t have any parents.
There was also a girl who was identified as bigender named Levi who uses she/they pronouns. She has short, straight, red hair with blue eyes and is really tall. Levi also has long eyelashes and loves red. Her parents ran a small and cozy award-winning bakery in San Jose.
Somehow, they were all sent to a sleep-away summer camp called Camp Secret in the redwood forest. The orphan shelter decided to send Lori so she wouldn’t be lonely and would make friends.
They all got assigned to the same cabin, another coincidence. The second they saw each other, they were all shocked! They looked exactly the same! Soon, they started sharing what they had experienced and what was happening in their lives. The group had quickly become friends. Creative Luca joked and even suggested the idea: “Our parents used to be friends and married, but maybe they divorced. Cool, huh?” Everyone laughed.
For the whole summer, this is how it went. The friends stood up for other kids from bullies, especially Lisa, had fun, chatted, and did all the normal summer camp stuff. But they still wondered and were concerned about how they were alike. They tried to spy on their parents. Luca even put a bunch of rocks his mom’s backpack on their hiking trip in Florida to see her phone when she fell down. His mom grounded him for a week.
The staff of Camp Secret were mystified about why the group was identical and from different places and parents. They also all started with the letter “L”. They told the California government and they researched and checked things forever until … They found out that Luca and Lisa’s parents used to be together but divorced right after the birth of their first baby twins, Luca and Lisa! So, they each took one child.
One year later at summer camp, Camp Secret, Lori finally told her secret BFFS that before, her parents wanted to divorce when she was seven. Lori was so unhappy that she started packing her bag to leave home and run away. Lori’s parents didn’t want their dear little kid to do that. So, they decided to come back together and fulfill Lori’s wish. They hoped that she would come back. But, it was too late. So they adopted another baby called Levi. Now, Lori regrets that decision.
Another year later, when the kids were going to middle school, the government announced that Lori and Levi’s dad is the big brother of Luca and Lisa’s mom. Another secret they kept! Now it all makes sense about their similarities!
Every year until college they went to the same camp and were Junior Counselors in high school. Lori came back to her parents and house, after telling the shelter her story and having lots of interviews with the annoying local news reporter, Luca would say. Lori said, “I know I was really stubborn but what matters to me the most now is that I’m being honest and telling everyone. I am incredibly happy that I am reunited.” Who knew that this would be the secret from Camp Secret and was Luca joking about the reason four kids look the same, true?
