The Monster In My Room
“Goodnight, Sammy!” my mom said to me as she gently closed my bedroom door at 9:30 pm every day of the week.
However, tonight was different. As I started to doze off into a dreamless sleep, I heard the floor creaking. I opened my eyes and saw a bright pair staring back at me. I shrieked. My mom came running in while asking me why I was screaming. I told her that there was a monster with big yellow eyes watching me sleep. Mom just laughed and told me to stop making up stories to stay up longer. She walked out of my room while muttering to herself about how I was a reckless child.
When she left the room, the monster’s eyes were staring at me again. This time, I stayed silent, hoping that it wouldn’t disappear again. I slowly got up from my bed and took a few steps closer toward the monster. Surprisingly, it waved back at me. Obviously, I was too scared to wave back. The monster suddenly reached out and grabbed me by the shoulders. I bit my tongue to stop myself from screaming. Suddenly, a deep voice filled the room. “Why didn’t you wave back at me!” the monster screamed. In a small, scared voice, I said, “I’m sorry”. The monster picked me up and threw me against the wall. My head hit the wall with a loud bang, and I slowly slid to the floor. The monster took big steps toward me. It took out a big dagger, and that is when I woke up.
Cold sweat poured down my face as I took big, deep breaths.I lay back down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. This was all just a dream! Now I can go back to sleep.
