The Awakening of The First Dragon
The flying egg soared through the dusk sky. All the villagers watched in awe as it landed in the hands of Princess Evly Waters.
“All hail the princess! All hail the princess!” The crowd cheered.
“She doesn’t deserve the egg, I do!” A voice shouted. The town went completely silent.
“Pardon me, what did you just say?” Evly said, looking down at the people below her from the Grand Balcony.
“I said, I deserve the egg not you”
“Why is that Miss Puppet? What makes you a better mother than me?”
“Because I am the real Princess Waters, I might have the title of ‘peasant’ but I’m a princess at heart .” Miss Puppet said boastfully and struck a dramatic pose.
Evly Waters turned towards her mother with her signature piercing eyes and asked, “Is the peasant telling the truth?”. To her disbelief Queen Waters
III nodded.
“You’re such a a-a disappointment! I thought you where my real mother!” The young Princess cried, clutching the egg which had a crack, to her room and locked the door
The next morning, Evly woke up with a sharp pain in her foot. She looked around her room, it had been raided for sure. Her crown, broken. Her mirror, shattered. Her ocean blue eyes darted around the room, the egg was shattered.
“The egg!” She gasped. Then she suddenly realized, the dragon was chewing on her foot.
“Chew on a bone!” She yelled
“Mama!”the dragon said.
“Nooo!”said Miss Puppet popping out from under the bed“I waited all night for this!”
“GUARDS!”
A tall soldier walked into the room where Miss Puppet was strangling the young princess. “Mary! How dare you choke the heir of the Grand Throne.” And with one swift movement, he threw Mary Puppet out the banquet hall, just in time as the Main Door.
15 YEARS LATER
The dragon was now known by the title of Grand Protecter of Town Twilight.
“Mother, now that you’re Queen you promised me to be promoted to-“
“You’re not gonna get a promotion. You’re gonna be the heir to the throne.”
“What! Mother, out of all your ten children… You want ME!?” The dragon said.
“You’re the world’s first dragon, heaven brought you into my arms,” she explained “It would be a disrespect to the gods and goddesses if I don’t, I would be risking my life to give the throne to one of my own children.”
After the queen hosted a feast to honor the heir of the throne, she went to her room to shake off the fact that her children might not be happy that a dragon was going to be the next queen.
“Mother,” said a voice from outside her door, “I don’t understand how you want a dragon to take the throne! I’m literally your oldest child.”
“Evelyn I’ve talked to you about this many times, Ezmia is a dragon from the heavens and if I don’t make her the heir to the throne— I would be risking our family for 100 generations.”
“I guess,” Evelyn said.
When she walked out the door she saw a note, and it was written by her grandma.
I can’t believe what I had just did to Evly. She was a sweet kind girl, she’s didn’t deserve to know that Mary Puppet was my real daughter. She would cry all day for months, I wrote this note in hopes that my grandchildren would read it.

78 years later.
At the funeral of Queen Waters III, Queen Ezmia cried harder than any other person in the crowd.
“She raised me to be a good queen.” She said between sobs.
“There, there,” said Evelyn, “She lived older than any other queen in all the eras,”
“You don’t understand, she gave me the choice to be a queen and I was greedy and said yes!” She said and cried even harder.
“It wasn’t a choice, it was her will.” Evelyn explained, and showed her a paper.
