One day, a 12-year-old Colorado boy named Brody Ridder came home from school with a frown on his face. He had only managed to get two teachers and two students to sign his yearbook even, though he asked numerous people.

He wrote to himself in his yearbook “Hope you make some more friends.” For months, Brody had been bullied at school by other students.

He shared a message with parents and kids through Facebook. He said if parents saw their kid bullying someone, they should talk to them and take into mind what the bullied kid might be feeling.

Cassandra, Brody’s mother, felt like sharing something too. She said that parents should be teaching their kids kindness and manners, and that it was wrong for Brody to have go through such things for months.

After this was posted on social media, people immediately showed support. Messages from kids, parents, adults, companies, and celebrities poured in.

Paul Rudd, who played Ant-Man in Disney’s Marvel movies, called Brody over video and even sent him a handwritten letter of encouragement. Brody also received an Ant-Man helmet signed by Rudd that says, “To my good friend Brody for when he takes on the world.”

When Brody went back to school, everyone signed his yearbook and even took pictures with him like he was a celebrity. Even high schoolers came to his classroom to see him.
