Only The Most Incredible Series Out There!
As soon as I heard about the “Shatter Me” series, I didn’t hesitate and bought it right away. The book “Ignite Me” is the third book of the main six. It is written by Tahereh Mafi, who is one of my favorite authors. This book is my personal favorite due to the adventure and unexpected events that occur among all the others. Of course, once the books were delivered, I began reading them immediately. When I picked up the first book, I couldn’t put the rest down. I finished all six of the main books within seven days, which, according to my history, is very fast.
This book expresses the emotions and actions the protagonist, Juliette Ferrars, takes to continue her journey now that her previous home has been destroyed by The Reestablishment. Because of this, she is now working with the handsome chief commander of Sector 45, Warner. Warner is the one person Juliette never thought she could ever trust, but now she is practically running away with him, determined to make changes in the world. Warner is a very cold and cruel man but this doesn’t affect the way he acts around Juliette. They have both had arduous childhoods, but with them working together, they could potentially rule the world. Although Warner treats everyone with obnoxious behavior, his personality completely switches when Juliette’s around.
This book played a really big role in character development for the rest of the series. Juliette, the protagonist, grew a lot. Here, she changes from being this small, fragile, and isolated person to gaining confidence, strength, and becoming a powerful leader. On the other hand, Warner changes from being heartless and bitter to a complicated character who is both moody and monotone but also has a deep, enamored affection for Juliette.
Not only are there six main books, but also six novellas that help the story come together more. For someone like me, who couldn’t get away from these books, the novellas have added more complexity to the story. Tarereh Mafi writes the books trying to explain different perspectives intimately, with detail, and depth. These books have provided me with an escape from reality for the past week, which feels really good.
Everything in this book continues in the fourth, fifth, and sixth, but also the novellas. I recommend this series to people who enjoy dystopian future-like, romantic books with plot twists. Each book ends with an enormous cliff-hanger that forces you to read more and more. I admire the way Tarereh Mafi writes these books with such care.
