People all over Iran have been protesting against the government for more than 2 weeks, more and more people are protesting against the government. The government has responded violently, killing nearly 500 people. Trump has threatened that the US might take action. “Since late December, large numbers of people have been protesting across Iran.” The protests have been pretty large since 2022; the people protested over the death of a young woman who was arrested for not wearing a headscarf. “Those protests were mainly against the strict religious rules of the government.” Iran’s money has lost 40% of its value because people are upset about the economy. Since Iran’s money has lost 40% of its value, it has become very hard for ordinary people to buy the things they need. Even though the Iran government responded violently, people still protested. President Donald Trump encouraged the people to protest and has warned that it will attack US and Israeli targets if either country tries to interfere. There are many reasons why Iran takes Mr. Trump’s threats seriously. Mr. Trump had bombed Iran’s nuclear targets last June. “And in early January, under Mr. Trump’s orders, the US attacked Venezuela and captured its president.” Iran has made small changes to their rules to put an end to the people’s protests. It is not clear if the Iran government’s changes will help, but Iran will not improve for a long time since Iran’s economies are serious. Not much is known about how Iran will respond, but other countries like the U.S will take action.
