A Moment of Wonder
One evening, the sky surprised me,
painting itself on top of the quiet fire.
Orange melted into pink,
and purple stretched across the clouds.
The sun sank slowly,
like it was taking its time
to say goodbye to the day.
For a moment,
Everything felt still.
Cars passed on the roads from far away,
waves whispered against the shore,
and the wind brushed past my face
a soft reminder
to stop and look.
I stood there watching,
amazed that something so simple
could feel so beautiful.
The colors reflected on the water
like a mirror,
And I wondered
How many sunsets had I missed
because I was too busy
to notice.
In that quiet moment
I felt calm,
like the world was bigger
and kinder,
than I had remembered.
It reminds me
that wonder is everywhere,
hiding in ordinary places:
in a sky changing colors,
in laughter with my friends,
in a goal scored after trying again and again,
or in a tiny experiment
That suddenly works.
I want to look up more often,
to explore new places,
to try things that make me curious.
Maybe the next amazing moment
is waiting in a sunset,
a discovery,
or a place I have never seen before.
All I have to do
is slow down,
open my eyes,
and let myself be amazed.
