Big Wins and Green Slime: Jack Black and Wicked Shine at the Kids’ Choice Awards
The 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards were a fun and exciting night where kids picked their favorite stars from movies, TV, and music. The show took place on June 21 in Santa Monica, California, and was full of slime, cheering fans, and big surprises. This year, actor Jack Black and the movie Wicked were the top winners, making the night extra special for fans around the world.
Jack Black had one of the biggest moments of the night. He won Favorite Movie Actor for his role in Minecraft: The Movie. But that wasn’t all, he was also honored with a special award called “King of Comedy,” which celebrated his funny career and popularity. During his speech, Jack said, “This might be the best day of my life,” while covered in green slime and wearing a colorful tie-dye suit. One announcer even called him “the King of Comedy,” which made the crowd cheer louder. His energy and fun attitude made him a perfect winner for the Kids’ Choice Awards.
The movie Wicked also had a big night. It won Favorite Movie, and Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, won Favorite Movie Actress. These wins showed how much fans loved the magical movie. One fan said the film “soared to new heights,” which proves how strong the connection is between the story and young audiences. Wicked is based on the Broadway musical about the witches of Oz, and has amazing songs, fun characters, and eye-catching costumes that kids enjoyed.
There were also other exciting winners during the show. The Thundermans won Favorite Kids TV Show, and its stars, Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin, took home awards for Favorite TV Actor and Actress. Cobra Kai stars Xolo Maridueña and Peyton List also won for the Family TV categories. Other fan-favorite winners included SpongeBob SquarePants for Favorite Cartoon and America’s Got Talent for Favorite Reality Show. Rihanna was honored with a special ICON Award and was given a silver blimp trophy. These awards showed how the show celebrates all kinds of entertainment that kids love.
One of the best parts of the Kids’ Choice Awards is that the fans decide who wins. Kids vote online, and the results are announced live. Another fun tradition is the green slime, which always ends up on the biggest stars. Jack Black’s slime moment became one of the funniest parts of the night. He danced, smiled, and laughed as slime poured over him. Moments like these are what make the show so unique and fun to watch.
Jack Black and Wicked were the big stars of this year’s show, and their wins showed that kids value humor, heart, and magic.
