Thirteen year old inventor on Time magazine cover
A 13 year old named Rebecca, from Glasgow, who invented a backpack last year for homeless people, is being celebrated by Time magazine.
The invention was a backpack with solar panels. The solar panels gather and store energy while the sun is out, whereas at night the backpack releases heat so homeless people can be warmer during the winter.
Rebecca was put on the Time magazine cover as ‘Person of the Year’, along with nine others, where they were styled to look like LEGO minifigures. Time magazine has run the ‘Person of the Year’ feature since the 1920s, and it is in fact well known for it.
Rebecca will appear on the cover of Time magazine on August 13.
