If you’re a fan of “The Big Bang Theory”, you’ll definitely enjoy this highly ranked show, “Young Sheldon”, which you can watch on Hulu, HBO Max, Netflix, and more. This show illustrates Sheldon Cooper’s childhood all the way to his teenage years, being raised in a Baptist household in Medford, Texas, in the late 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s. This amazing show takes us back to Sheldon’s early days as a socially awkward genius. He is very different from his classmates, neighbors, and family. Being the only 9-year-old starting freshman year, he aces all his tests and goes above and beyond in everything, while his 14-year-old brother, Georgie Cooper, barely passes. The show presents his twin sister Missy’s struggles as the less “smart, but also incredibly gifted” twin’s struggles. There is a lot of family drama, moments showing love, religion, and how Sheldon’s extreme nerdiness, still brought him much love and joy throughout his life.
One strength of the show “Young Sheldon” is its amazing scenes of family love. Although there are many fights and arguments caused because of Sheldon’s uniqueness, his close-knit family always finds a way back to one another, showing their love and support. Over the years, Sheldon and his twin sister Missy have created a heart-touching sibling bond. Although they fight a lot and cause many arguments throughout the family because of their extreme differences, they always find a way back to each other. They are there for each other through sadness, joy, heartbreak, and many hardships. They help each other every day, and Sheldon even dedicates his high school valedictorian speech to Missy for helping him survive. I seriously smile or feel joy when I see Missy and Sheldon bonding and being there for each other.
After watching all 7 seasons of “Young Sheldon” at least three times, I noticed that Sheldon is a huge science, math, and school person in general. The show has Sheldon saying complicated science terms throughout the show that many people, including myself, do not understand. Sometimes it makes me lose a bit of interest when the scene is just Sheldon discussing with his teachers about his education and his mindset in general. He learns things extremely fast, is a genius, and has grown up to winning a Nobel Prize. Half of what he says isn’t understood by anyone, including his close-knit family.
I believe that “Young Sheldon” is the perfect show to watch if you’re bored and you’re looking for something addictive and funny. The show is full of family, relationships, and how this Baptist family with three children on a tight budget lives through their years together. I loved it so much that I watched it multiple times, and it is my go-to show when I find nothing to watch. The same producers also released a show after “Young Sheldon,” zooming in on the oldest brother, Georgie Cooper’s life as a high school dropout, young dad, and the hardships he faced with his family’s loss.
In conclusion, “Young Sheldon” is a great show with many heart-touching moments, making you want to watch more every day. It’s highly addictive, and you’ll learn a bunch of scientific facts as you watch.
