On Tuesday, July 23, The Pokemon Company held its latest Pokemon Presents livestream and revealed some big updates for fans. The announcements included a new mainline game, animated shows, and even a real-world theme park attraction in Japan.
The biggest reveal was Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which is coming to both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2 in October 2025. The game takes place in Lumiose City and introduces a new ranking system where players work their way up from “Z” to “A” in a group called the MZ crew. Players can catch Pokémon during the day and battle them at night. The game is currently up for pre-order at a price of £49.99.

Outside of games and shows, a permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction called PokéPark KANTO is being built at Yomiuri Land in Tokyo. It will have forest and town zones with meet-and-greets and parades. It’s set to open in 2026, with tickets available later this year.

The livestream also reminded viewers that the 2025 Pokémon World Championships will take place in Anaheim, California, from August 15-17, where players from all over the world will compete in the Trading Card Game finals, including an 11-year-old player from the United Kingdom who qualified this year.
