My Favorite Holiday
My favorite holiday is winter break. Winter has always been my favorite time of the year, when the soft snow starts to slide under my shoes, and the cool air starts brushing against my skin. The feeling is indescribable, and the joy just comes out like a chemical reaction.
I started liking winter break when my family spent it in Japan. It is hard to imagine a southern boy touching snow or walking on a street that is below freezing. It’s even harder to imagine that the boy likes it. I mean it’s great, I tried my first snow slide, the first snowball fight, and the first time just lying down on the snow and doing nothing. From that day on, I have a feeling that I have a connection with snow that will last forever. I remember the first time I rode the snow motorbike, the cool air and snowflakes rushed on my face as I rode through the curtain of snow. The laughter escaping my mouth covered over the sound of the motorbike. That day, I felt true happiness. It’s just paradise.
As I grew up, I started to form a different relationship with snow and winter. physically and mentally. Physically, it’s when I moved to Boston, I spent more time with snow and cold. I started to like that winter break is snowy and cool. Mentally? It was when I started to like skiing. cutting smoothly through it like I was making an art piece. That time, I knew I was skiing with my mind, not my body, as though I were crafting an art out in my brain.
I started to like winter by a little coincidence. I never felt sorry, I only felt thankful to this lucky event that it somehow found its way to me.
