My Favorite Foods
I have multiple favorite foods, but I will only write about three of them. They are sushi, dumplings, and mango. Each food has a different texture and taste which makes them unique.
I like sushi because I like all of the things inside it: seaweed is one of my favorite snacks, rice is a staple at every meal, and sushi salmon is just delicious. I also really like soy sauce. Once, for a Japanese culture school project, I made sushi at my house with one of my friends. We made salmon nigiri (my favorite) and California rolls (his favorite). I really enjoyed making the sushi and learning the techniques to do it. At the end, we ate them. It was delicious. Even though I enjoy making sushi at my house, I usually eat it in a restaurant. In my Japanese culture exploration class, we went to a sushi restaurant in Somerville.
My mom makes dumplings at home, so I don’t need to go to a restaurant just for dumplings. My favorite type of dumplings are meat dumplings (I hate veggie dumplings). She always packs them for me for school. To make these dumplings, you fry them. Inside the dumplings, there is pork, some leeks, and special ingredients to make it taste good. I eat my dumplings with soy sauce, too.
Mango is my favorite fruit. I just like how it tastes. The texture is soft and creamy, which I really enjoy. With mango, you can make mango smoothies, ice cream, sorbet, mango peels, and some really tasty snacks. On average, I often eat two mangoes a day. There are also lots of different types of mango. I usually eat ataulfo mangoes, but there are alphonso mangoes, amrapali mangoes, irwin mangoes, keitt mangoes, ice cream mangoes, gir kesar mangoes, sensation mangoes…there are over 1,000 different types of mangoes.
These three foods are my favorite, with different tastes and different cultures.
