A Text from Jaxton
“Bling!”
I walked into the garage and was about to start my car, but the sound would not stop.
“Bling. Bling. Bling.”
It was like a voice calling my name. So I walked out of my car and looked around. Suddenly, I spotted a bright, blue phone. I picked it up and saw the texts.
“Hi! Don’t drop me. Please just keep me with you,” it displayed.
My mom had always told me not to listen to strangers, so I put the phone back down. However, the phone just wouldn’t stop until I picked it up. It was kind of like it knew what I was going to do…
“Don’t skip class. It won’t go well,” the phone buzzed, and the notification popped up.
Ugh, I really wanted to go get a smoothie with my friends, though. I thought about the decision until my friends shouted my name.
“Jaxson, hurry up. We’re leaving now.”
I hesitated for a while but eventually went with my friends since they were all depending on me to drive. Everything was going great. I had my favorite smoothie, and I skipped my least favorite class: math. Suddenly, when I was trying to start the car to drive back, I realized my keys weren’t in my pockets. I hurried back into the store and asked all the employees, but not one of them found my keys. They scrambled around the restaurant to check for my keys, while still helping other customers. Every second, I could feel someone brush by me. I even thought I was in a tornado for a second. Everything felt like a mess as workers flew by me one by one.
After we searched for a long time, my friends and I just took a taxi back to the school. One of my other friends brought me back home as my car just sat there locked in the smoothie store’s parking lot.
Later that week, I got another text from the phone. “Go to the smoothie store’s back right table.”
That was strange… Well, I didn’t have anything else to do… so why not? I took another taxi to get to the store. As I walked toward the table, I saw something small and black in the corner of the bench. I got closer and realized that it was my keys!
