Birds get electrocuted on power lines when they touch two different lanes at the same time. However, after a survey and further research, the main killers of birds on power lines are still humans and shotgun bullets. In the survey, roughly two-thirds of the birds resting on the power lines were found with bullets in their bodies.

The main reason for this unexpected data is because of the burn marks on the dead bodies of birds. This makes everyone think that a huge population of birds has been electrocuted. The truth is, these birds might have been shot, then electrocuted before falling down. The reason for shooting might be either for fun or hunting.

After an X-ray, a lot of birds have bullets in their bodies. It was a shock for everyone because lots of people thought that the main reason for death was electrocution. The main dead birds found have been ravens and raptors like eagles, hawks, and falcons.

These shootings have been causing certain bird populations to decline, and they are also illegal under US laws on animal protection. Nonetheless, lots of scientists have been talking about the issues of endangered birds and the fact that this illegal shooting of birds must stop as soon as possible.
