Taylor Swift was performing during the Eras Tour at Lumen Field when the seismic activity happened during her performance of Shake It Off.

Swift addicts literally shook the ground– just with their passion! Taylor Swift is more powerful than I thought—her fans are taking her to the next level!

In the middle of the concert area was Taylor Swift. “I shake it off,” she sang. ”I shake it off!” Surrounding her was a swarm of Swift fanatics and addicts, who were cheering, shrieking, and waving frantically at their favorite superstar. And boy, was it a sight to see!

Swift’s fans caused an earthquake! In fact, the seismic activity in Washington that night exceeded the famous “Beast Quake” in 2011 when Marshawn Lynch (a football player) of the Seahawks scored a last-minute touchdown. Sorry about that, Marshawn Lynch.

According to a nearby seismometer, it was roughly equivalent to a magnitude 2.3 earthquake, seismologists said.

“It’s certainly the biggest concert we’ve had in a while,” said Mouse Reusch, a seismologist at the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, which monitors earthquake activity in the Pacific Northwest. “We’re talking about 70,000 people and all the music and paraphernalia associated with the concert.”

“The so-called “Swift Quake” recorded a maximum ground acceleration of roughly 0.011 meters per second squared, said Jackie Caplan-Auerbach, a seismologist at Western Washington University,” reported The New York Times.

Caplan-Auerbach said, “Geologists in the Seattle area aren’t unfamiliar with the concept of a crowd or stadium causing a seismic event at Lumen Field.”

“Swift’s concerts registered on the same seismometer, and were brought to the attention of the geology professor after a user inquired about their ‘quake factor’ on a Facebook page about Pacific Northwest earthquakes,” explained Caplan-Auerbach.

“Someone posted on that and said, ‘Hey did the Taylor Swift concert make a Beast Quake?'”

According to CBS News, Swift did indeed make a “Beast Quake.”

“Reusch of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network said that the activity at the time was close to a magnitude 2.0 earthquake,” the New York Times reported. “The “Swift Quake” was recorded by the same seismic station, located just outside Lumen Field.”

The seismic event tells us that she has lots of fans who adore her. Her fans would do anything to see her concerts.

Swift’s Era Tour is off to success and, of course, a loud rumble!
