There are many problems about having strict dress codes, like discrimination and hefty price tags. There are also many families visiting food banks, and yet they must pay a lot of money just to get their children the right clothes for their school’s dress code.

A 10-year-old student from Melbourne’s Mordialloc College has been ejected from class and isolated all simply because of his brightly colored hair that brought attention to social issues, passion, and mental health. The student has been told by the school to wear a beanie until the dye has faded away.

A number of students were also removed from class at another Victorian school this week for failing to wear school-branded items. One student at Officer Secondary College said up to 100 students were sent to the library because many of them were wearing plain black pants rather than school-logo black pants.

There are many parents that have it tough and need to go to the food bank. Buying expensive clothes to match the student dress codes would be really unreasonable when they could alternatively go to somewhere like Walmart to buy cheap clothes.
