Tips for the balance of school and sports
“I’m so TIRED!” “ME TOO!” “I stayed up so LATE!” These are the exact words of students these days who are both athletes and students, everyone these days is trying hard to balance studies and sports. I have this problem too, balancing academics with sport excellence is tough, but here are some strategies I used to keep up with the heavy load.
First, I try to eat as healthy as I can, some of my friends go off chocolate or very high-sugar products. This might last for a few minutes to hours, but after that. These friends get even more tired! Like when the given passage states, “Great whole foods that can help reduce stress include poultry, fish, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats like almonds, walnuts, and avocados.” This is why eating healthy can reduce stress.
Also, another way to balance the two is by getting as much sleep as possible. I personally like to take away electronics 3 hours before bed. This helps me not to be tempted to watch all night. I usually get 8-10 hours of sleep, and I feel so much better than before (when I had 6-8 hours of sleep.) According to Chieftain Times, “Most doctors recommend getting 8-10 hours of sleep for teenagers, although with sports, trying to get enough sleep can be a challenge when you might have late practices and school the next day.” This is the importance of getting enough sleep.
To sum it all up, you can balance school and sports by eating healthy and getting enough sleep. After doing these things for a few days, you will be much more active in your sport and school. So next time you are stressed from studies and activities, remember this essay.
