After 12 years of service with the Washington Commander, Ryan Kerrigan’s football career is now coming to a conclusion. Kerrigan watched the football game from the sidelines because he wished he could play but is too old to do so.

Because of how much he loves the game, Kerrigan is still debating whether or not to retire from football. According to The Washington Post, the renowned football player added that although he thinks this was the right choice, giving up a sport he adores wasn’t that simple.

He made his choice late at night while thinking about his football future. He decided to retire at that time because it was best for his health and safety and because his body couldn’t perform the movements he used to when he was younger.

Kerrigan sustained a knee injury from a gunshot wound in the middle of December 1993. This indicated that his football career would probably end in retirement, but he is so driven that he was only pushed to call it a career and end it in 2021.

It was challenging to leave his work because of all the experiences he had.

Kerrigan returned to the location of his daily workout training facility. He expressed his admiration for the location while describing how it was the birthplace of all his relationships and love.

But whenever he returned to the training site, he was truly moved to say, “That’s why I’ve liked this place. He continued: “It’s hard to walk away, even though I know it’s the right thing because it’s all the relationships you formed over the years with teammates, coaches, the folks in the kitchen, the strength staff, and [media].”
