On July 23, 2022, a huge heatwave hit Paris, measuring around 93 degrees, 20 degrees higher than normal. The degree even reached 104 degrees at one point and could start many wildfires. This was probably one of the hottest heat waves France had ever seen before, this meant that the Tour de France, or a men’s bicycle race held only in France, was cancelled because of the heat.
But it wasn’t just the regular residents that were feeling bad, bicyclists felt even worse, after a hot day of biking, the seat would be burning hot, and it would be until a few days passed, then it will cool down. People have even started to get heatstroke since they are not used to this weather.
Scientists have concluded that France’s summers will probably be much hotter than they usually were.
