What started out as a little picture, fifty years ago, is now the inspiration for a good laugh.

Recently, social media posts that feature an abstract, multicolored blob with the text “Little Miss” or “Little Mr.” above it began to go viral. The Little Miss meme reveals very personal information about people in a light-hearted manner.

Just by sharing the characters created by Roger Hargreaves, one Instagram account, “LittleMissNotesApp,” has gained close to 2 million followers. The account gives credit to “Juulpuppy,” who started posting the art updates last spring. Multiple people send in requests, which the owner of the account then posts.

People have also enjoyed taking a quiz that shows what “Little Miss” they are. People take the quiz and post their results and reactions on TikTok. This inspires more people to do the same thing.

“A lot of the memes I was making were pretty dark, and I wanted to make a relatable meme that didn’t take itself too seriously,” says Juulpuppy. Some of her earlier “remix” pieces were inspired by books for young readers, including “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”

Many people can relate to this, and this trend has gone super viral. There is no need for anyone to feel excluded because any caption can be used with a Little Miss image. I personally relate to “Little Miss Dancer,” as I love to train and dance.

“We get to see cute imaginary versions of ourselves and laugh together at the messy nature of our flawed personalities, which I think is very genuine and sweet,” Juulpuppy says.

More than 140 million people have viewed the “Little Miss” hashtag on TikTok, and some creators have used the Pharrell Williams song “Cash In Cash Out” as the background music for their uploads.
