In eastern Kentucky, the worst disaster in decades has destroyed everything in its path. A flash flood swept through homes and destroyed cars. At least 25 lives were taken.

The governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, said that the death toll would be even higher as buildings were destroyed from the flood.

Even U.S. President Joe Biden declared that the floods in Kentucky were a major disaster.

Among the peopled that drowned or hit sharp edges, the people that died were six children, including a baby.

Scientists do think that these floods happened partly due to global warming. Even the National Guard was very surprised since for years no disaster had been so tragic and killed so many people.

“There’s still a lot of people out there, still a lot of people unaccounted for. We’re going to do our best to find them all,” the National Guard said. He warned that it could take weeks to find just a few of the victims because the houses and cars.

However, hundreds of people have escaped by boat or helicopter but a few just weren’t lucky enough to get saved.

These waves were violent and destroyed people’s lives. The people there will have a very hard life.
