Warrior Cats’ first book, Into The Wild, is one of the best books I’ve ever read because of the adventurous feeling it gives off. The story is about a prophecy, “Fire alone will save our clan.” After the prophecy, a pet cat named Rusty escapes his neighborhood to join the wild cats in the forest. He meets a cat named Graypaw (later Graystripe) and becomes friends with him. Rusty joins a group of cats named Thunderclan.
There are four clans, Thunderclan, Riverclan, Shadowclan, and Windclan –Windclan is missing. This results in Rusty being challenged by a full-grown warrior (Longtail) to a fight. After Winning, he is named Firepaw, indicating that he will save the clan. The clan leader, Bluestar, lost her co-leader (deputy), Redtail. After Firepaw had been accepted into the clan, Bluestar named a new deputy, Lionheart. A very meek apprentice named Ravenpaw later explains that Tigerheart is the one who killed Redtail to Firepaw and Graypaw.
After a couple of days, Firepaw found a loner cat named Yellowfang, who was a medicine cat, and decided that he should take her into the clan; though he was in charge of taking care of Yellowfang, he became very good friends with the old medicine cat. The story later explains how Lionheart was killed, and Tigerheart became the new deputy.
The plot is interesting, drawing the reader in with new surprises and mysteries that are exciting and shocking at the same time. The storyline and adventurous sense draw the reader in and make the reader truly feel the character’s emotions. The dramatic ending leaves the reader wanting to read more to uncover the story. This book is filled with imagination and creativity, making it a five-star read!
