After they left the cave, Lucas, Max, Helen, and their dragons were on their way to Megalodon Lake. When they got there, they rested on a boulder next to the big shining lake.
“We have to jump into that?” Max asked.
“Yeah,” Helen said, “unless the map is wrong.”
Lucas sighed. They would never get to the bottom of the lake. He kicked a stone into the water.
Suddenly, a whirlpool formed in the lake. Lucas felt a tug on his clothes. The tug got stronger as the whirlpool grew bigger. Luke thought that if he even jumped backwards, he would still be underwater by the end.
Seeing the whirlpool, Helen gasped.
“This is our chance to get to the bottom of the lake!” she said.
“Ugh,” Max grumbled, “I hate water.”
They jumped in, and with a whoosh, the whirlpool closed. In the whirlpool deep underwater, Lucas, Max, and Helen spun toward the sea floor, fast as a bullet train.
And just when they were about to hit the sandy rocky sea floor, KABLOOMY, the whirlpool spun so fast as to split a hole right through the rocky sand floor. They were launched out of the whirlpool and into the sky. Well, Lucas thought it was the sky, but when his eyes cleared, he could see that they were in a giant air bubble at the bottom of the Megalodon Lake.
They kept on falling. Suddenly, they landed in a giant water blob floating above a giant piece of red coral in the air bubble, slowing them down. Then, they landed on a giant piece of coral that acted like a slide, WHOOSH, before landing on a big sponge that immediately soaked up all the lake-water from their clothes and hair.
“Whoa!” Max exclaimed.
There was only one path, so they followed it. The path took them to a big clump of plants. Inside of them was a cell. Inside was a bright blue dragon. A sea dragon.
“How do we get to it?” Max asked.
“We have to cut our way in,” said Lucas, “with game energy.”
There was a big treasure chest outside the clump of plants with 100 energy. Chop, chop, chop.
“One more tree,” Lucas said, “20 energy.”
Boom! They rescued the blue dragon, Serpent, but when they were about to go out, the path they chopped was regrowing with new plants.
Helen found a sign on a tree that said:
YOU FOUND YOUR WAY IN
BUT CAN YOU GET OUT?
THE SERPENT KNOWS THE WAY
SO ASK HIM ABOUT.
Lucas looked in his energy bag. Uh-Oh! They were out of energy.
“We have to jump into that?” Max asked.
