Former president Donald Trump recently hosted two LIV Golf events and has criticized the traditional PGA tours while calling Saudi Arabians his friends. Trump claimed that “I’ve known these people for a long time in Saudi Arabia and they have been friends of mine for a long time. They’ve invested in many American companies. They own big percentages of many, many American companies and frankly, what they are doing for golf is so great, what they are doing for the players is so great. The salaries are going to go way up” before going into a segment of the golf event. The golf series is bankrolled by a fund that is overlooked by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

People do not know how much LIV Golf organizers paid Trump for the use of his club. However, players who have turned down the PGA Tour have been suspended for playing in the LIV tournaments. As of now, LIV golfers can still play in the major tournaments if they are not run by the PGA. But this could change later on.
