Surgery. Does it remind you of anything? It may sound scary, but check out how the Smith family dealt with it. You may be wondering, “Is it Alex Smith? The famous quarterback?” and the answer is yes! You may know that he has a daughter with a very rare tumor. This article tells how the family supported each other through this frightening time.

Sloane Kenzington Smith

Sloane Kenzington Smith was a fine, healthy young girl in the Smith family. This all changed on May 10th, when Sloane was rushed to the hospital. After an MRI, her parents were told that their daughter had a very rare and large brain tumor. In a post on Instagram, Alex stated, “The 10 hour procedure was the most excruciating time of our lives. A clock has never moved so slowly. The incredible neurosurgeons @stanfordchildrens did a miraculous job and were able to remove 100% of the tumor.”

The Outcome

Fortunately, Sloane recovered from the brain tumor. “All we know is what is most important—and that’s SLOANE. She has healed from surgery. Back to her bubbly self. Singing, dancing, laughing and feeling good.” Alex states.

Hopefully, you have learned that even daughters of football stars do not have perfect lives.
