poo is set to power Sydney with other cities set to follow

Right now in Sydney, people are trying to use poop to generate electricity. It is possible that the technology will be used across the country someday.

Gas supplier Jemena’s Managing Director Frank Tudor said it was a “potential game-changer for Australian energy users”, but consumers would not notice any difference to the little blue flame: home gas will smell and function exactly the same as always. The facility has a modest initial target, that is the annual gas consumption of 6300 Sydney households.

Thanks to similar programs, it has proved to be helpful. “One European study suggested the use of biogas rather than natural gas could cut emissions by 85 percent,” Mr. Tudor said. Let’s see how much electricity Sydney will save by next year!
