An Australian Shepherd mix rescue dog that looks like Hollywood star Paul Rudd has found a permanent home. The announcement was made on February 20, 2023, a week after the Colleyville, Tennessee dog nicknamed “Pawl Ruff” went viral on social media.

Originally named Waffle House, the two-year-old pooch shot to internet fame after shelter workers discovered his resemblance to the Ant-Man star. Using side-by-side images, they created a collage that showcases the striking similarities in their expressions.

Town of Colleyville officials were running a Valentine’s Day campaign to encourage people to adopt animals from shelters. They decided to share this funny picture on their Twitter account. They even asked Rudd to take Pawl Ruff in.

“Paul doesn’t have a Twitter account, but @AntMan does,” the tweet said. “Honestly, what could be more heroic than adopting a shelter pet?”

Rudd did not respond. But the popular post attracted seven applications. One of them was from Jennifer Roy, who has always wanted an Australian Shepherd. After seeing the viral post, Roy knew she had to act fast before someone else adopted the puppy. She immediately submitted an application and arranged to visit the shelter. As of February 19, Pawl Ruff has moved to his permanent residence!

“I’ve been looking for a dog and tracked down different shelters in the area. When I saw him, I thought, ‘That’s my dog!'” Roy said.
