“WHERE am I???” Lily woke up wondering why she was in an office-like building full of people wearing suits. In fact, she was wearing an average and “lifeless” black suit herself. No one seemed to realize her presence, fortunately, but she was nearly freaking out because she had no idea what to do in her seat where she got it out of nowhere.
She soon realized that she was in a law office when she received emails from her “clients.” Now she was screwed even more because she had no idea what the cases were about, but they all seemed urgent. She would hope this was a dream, but at the same time, it was also too genuine to be a dream. After some inner conflict, she decided to ask someone who seemed to be her co-worker. But before her co-worker could even talk with her, they were called into the conference room for a meeting. She felt like she was having one of her biggest crisis in life. During the meeting, she started to re-think what happened to her before ending up in this law office since this was almost the opposite of the life she have had.
Just then, an elegant but keen lady called on her, “Ms. Arden, you seem to be very quiet today. What exactly is wrong with you?” She did not know what to tell her since the truth definitely didn’t not sound like the truth. She suddenly felt like a timid first grader who had to introduce themselves to the entire class. She finally managed to tell her that she was just fine but hasn’t slept well recently. (Which technically wasn’t a lie anyways) The meeting was finally over and she was extremely exhausted. It seemed like a thousand years had passed even though she was day-dreaming for half of the time. When she went back to her seat, she wrote emails to her “clients,” saying that she wasn’t sure about it and gave them her co-worker’s contacts. Then, she suddenly felt dizzy, and a second later, she was already in her bed.
The sky was still dark, so she looked at the clock and it said “3:33.” “oh god, that was a weird dream…” Lily mumbled. She tried to go to sleep, but she couldn’t, so she went on her social media. When she was randomly scrolling through her social media, she saw an advertisement saying, “Do you believe there is an opposite ‘YOU’ in this world?” Right after Lily saw it, she suddenly felt tired again and went to sleep soon. She then woke up at 8 and went to her job as a fashion designer and lived her life just as usual.
Twenty years later, when Lily was reading several genres of magazines for inspiration, she saw a name that was completely identical to hers. “Lily Ar-den” she spelled her name out, then she was more surprised when she saw her face. They looked JUST the same! As it turned out, the woman was a very famous lawyer in UK and though out the world. Lily’s memory of that weird dream that she turned into a lawyer was soon recalled in her mind. She then realized something; “Maybe that wasn’t quite a dream.”
