“I wish I could go there,” “Dad, can I please go there?” “I really want to go to that place.” That is what some would say when they want to go somewhere. But, obviously, parents have a unique specialty, which is to say “no.” That just gives us, as children or teenagers, the urge to go there more. We all have something we would call our “dream vacation.” I am sure everyone should have one because I know I do. It is to be able to travel the world, and visit all seven continents, and spend one whole year just doing one thing: traveling. This may sound crazy, but remember, it is a “dream vacation.” The chances of me even having the time and money for this crazy trip of mine are going to be incredibly rare. What is even more crazy is going to be the layout of the whole vacation, from when and where I am leaving and coming back.
In my dreams, I (currently living in Long Island, New York) will be leaving from John F. Kennedy International Airport on a day that I want to leave and will first go to California. After landing, I will see their iconic attractions and spend a day at Disneyland. I will be attending a baseball game and a Golden State Warriors basketball game. After that, I will travel to Alaska to see their wildlife and their glaciers. I will surely try out some of their famous things to eat or drink. Some dishes that include king crab fresh from the sea. That will be all done in a day or two, which will then be followed by a flight to Hawaii, where I will spend some relaxing time in some of the famous resorts there. I will then take a long flight to Japan, where I will also travel to see some famous attractions and eat their well-known foods like A5 wagyu or top-notch seafood like sashimi. The same goes for China, where I will go to the capital, Beijing, and also go to Shanghai Disneyland. From there, I will travel to Dubai to spend a day spotting luxurious cars and seeing the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. After this, I will be going to Africa.
I will first go to Egypt to spend a day or two there, and then continue my trip into Europe. I will first go to Italy to try pizza from the country it originated in, then I will go to Spain, then France, Sweden, Norway, and lastly the United Kingdom. From there, I will take a very long flight from London to Sydney, Australia. From there, I will go to New Zealand. In every country I am going to, I will generally only spend one to three days. After New Zealand comes Antarctica. I will take on an expedition to Antricia. After that, I will go to Costa Rica and then fly all the way to Russia to embark on a journey to the North Pole. I will travel on one of the world’s largest icebreakers. After a long trip, I will be on a flight from Russia to my home country, the United States. I will arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport on any day, depending on how long it takes me to travel the world. Keep in mind that I will be buying a last-minute ticket to my next destination.
Those who say, “I wish I could go there; Dad, can I please go there?” or “I really want to go to that place.” Those feelings of wanting can be expressed right here. I just did that; I told you about my “crazy dream vacation” that probably will not happen. But who knows? I may become a successful man in the future and will have the time and money to spare any extra 2-month trip. Always dream big and don’t think inside the box.
