A new film of Roald Dahl’s famous children’s book Matilda is to be made by Netflix. The director, Matthew Warchus, directed both the original film and the upcoming adaption. I would give the original musical five out of five stars because the comedic songs, the acting, and the adaptation are perfect.
The first reason why I gave “Matilda the Musical” five out of five stars is because of the comedic songs. They make the musical come alive, and “Matilda the Musical” has some toe-tappingly good ones. These songs will get you up on your feet dancing and laughing. Make sure to focus on the words since there are some fantastic one-liners, whether you’re watching it in a theater or just listening to the soundtrack. One of my favorite songs is “Miracle,” because it is perfect for setting a peaceful tone right at the beginning of the show.
The second reason why I gave “Matilda the Musical” a five out of five stars is because of the acting. Half of the cast are children, and they are most definitely going to become some of theater’s future stars. To be honest, I forgot that the actors were children because of how good the acting is. Then there is Emma Thompson, who is well known for her role as the charmed Nanny McPhee, as the dreadful Miss Trunchbull.
The last reason why I gave “Matilda the Musical” a five out of five stars is because the adaptation is perfect. Most people have read the book, but this musical is nothing like it. This charming fusion of the classic novel and movie in “Matilda the Musical” gives the production its own distinctive feel while pleasing everyone.
I strongly recommend that everyone, regardless of age, watch “Matilda the Musical.” It would be a waste if only kids see this happy, upbeat musical.
