A 35-foot powerboat raged with fire on Saturday. This incident killed two people and injured 3. The fire occurred near a fuel dock on Alamitos Bay. Two men and a woman got injured and two women in their 60s were killed.

Firefighters responded to the incident at 5:17 p.m. and immediately got fire engines and marine safety rescue boats to the scene. The firefighters blasted the fire with water. The fire sent a massive plume of smoke that was visible for miles. “There was a big bang and I looked up, and there was this ginormous plume of black smoke,” said Daniel Quinn, a host at the nearby Crab Pot restaurant.

Booms were placed around the damage to minimize any environmental impact caused by fuel or oil leakages. When rescue workers moved the boat to an isolation dock, it got submerged under the water. In the end, no firefighters were injured.
