Moana 2 will be coming out in November, but there is also going to be a live action!
Although the Live Action Moana is coming out in 2026, it is all over the news. This show features Catherine Laga’aia who previously appeared in the TV series “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.”
Moana was one of Catherine’s favorite shows, and she states that she is excited to be a part of it. She also explains her culture being Hawaiian. “My grandfather comes from Fa’ala, Palauli, in Savai’i. And my grandmother is from Leulumoega Tuai on the main island of ‘Upolu in Samoa.”
Also joining the live-action Moana cast are John Tui (Young Rock), Frankie Adams (The Expanse) and Rena Owen (Siren). They will play Moana’s father, mother and grandmother. Dwayne the Rock Johnson, who previously voiced Maui will also be coming back to the show. Of course, Moana’s buddies, Pua and HeiHei will be in the live action too!
The live action film will be coming out on July 10, 2026. That may be a long time, because it was actually delayed. Originally, the release date was going to be in 2025. It had originally been promoted as a Disney+ Show, but it has to be made again into a theatrical one which takes some time(3-5 years).
But just be patient and you can watch the Moana live action film in theaters—and in 3 years.
