Hunger Games book review

Being one of the most-read book series, the Hunger Games is very thrilling and exciting to read. In the series, there are 3 books and one prologue.

In my opinion, the first book is the most exciting. It gives background information and sets the theme for the entire series.

There are three parts, the first part being about the reaping day. It explains what the ‘hunger games’ are and introduces characters. The author introduces Katniss Everdeen, the main character, Gale Hawthorn, her hunting partner, and Peeta Mellark, the person selected to participate in the hunger games alongside Katniss. It first takes place in district 12, the poorest one out of Panem. Panem used to be America until they revolted. Katniss is really good at shooting animals with her bow and arrow and hunts illegally to help feed her family.

The second part is when Katniss gets chosen. Peeta also gets chosen and they go on a train all the way to the capitol, where the rich people live luxuriously.

The third part is when the Hunger Games start. Katniss freezes, not knowing what to do. She decides to take a backpack, not wanting to go to the middle where it’s dangerous and the most powerful tributes are killing people. Katniss runs into the wild and decides to hide. She allies with Rue, a small girl from district 11 who soon dies. Katniss eventually teams up with Peeta and they win.

This is a really good book and once you finish it, you won’t be able to stop reading the others. It is really exciting, and I highly recommend it.
